Filming;
Originally, we had intended most of our project to be filmed indoors, especially the performance sections. Yet, because of the snow fall during the filming period, we couldn't get to the location, and neither could the owner. Hence why all the shots are featured outside.
I believe that the use of outside shots, opposed to a mix of in/outdoors, has helped our project, giving it a sense of freedom. This, I believe, coincides with the overall "fun" feel of the video.
The whole idea behind our video being comical was a logical step for us to take. If you listen to the song, it has an incredibly upbeat quality to it, this, we believed, would suit a more "silly" style of video. Also, each of us in the group are quite laid back people, who enjoy joking about, and we felt that showing this through our band alias' would help contribute to the video. Which, in my opinion, has done so.
Watching the video, you will notice that each of the band members has a certain personality. Ben, being the joker, dancing around having fun, James is seen skateboarding, Hassan is the video's main focal point, and I have been turned into the poser, as i just stand around.
The filming took place around Clitheroe town centre and the Castle grounds. These locations were chosen as aesthetically, they look pleasing, the architecture looking quite different from your "usual" town. I believe that this helped the feeling of individuality of our video, as the locations don't appear to be stock locations.
Half the shots taken are using what we could obtain from around the town, for example, the final shot which pans around the band, yet at a crooked angle. This was taken on a roundabout on the park's playground.
