The Summary, from ben briscoe's point of view

From beginning to end, our project has had to overcome many challanging obsticals in order to create what has turned out to be nothing short of a master piece...! We had originally planned to use a group members band, focusing on the punk/rock genre. We had gotten through quite alot of research into this before we decided to change musical direction. One thing lead to another, and as a group we felt we needed to move to a new artist. Plenty of e-mails were sent to various different types of signed and un-signed bands and artists, but the one that stood out for us were 'The Black Kids'. Once we had their lable's permission we immediatly started work on creating a video for theit song 'Love Me Already'. The genre was more pop/punk , so our research had to be modified and ideas for setting etc were also changed. Then came slight problems with location. With all the terribke weather over the christmas period (ideal filming time) we had to come up with new plans. We decided to take a couple of cameras out into the grounds and area surrounding Clitheroe Castle. As we started filming different types of shots, it was clear that this was the right location, so the filming proces actually flowed quite smoothly from then onwards. After the filming came the editing. This process was started by Myself and Hassan, then Bull and Howard swapped over from the ancillarys to have a go at editing. The brief in the edit suite was lots of fast paced shots of locations coupled with band performance and lead vocal lip syncing. I think that over all the final video was up to a good standard, and if im not mistaken, the audience thought so too. The ancillarys were less planned, more a case of lets try playing arounf in photoshop and see what looks good. At the start of the project we had taken hundreds of stills for use in research, but we found that we could use them to our advantage by copying them into the Album cover and mag article. These too were produced to a high standard, again, confirmed by audience testing. Speaking of our audience, we designed a questionaire for a select group of 16-20 year olds to fill out whislt they watched our video, then looked at out print based tasks. The overall feedback was very posotive, and we have a video of the feedback to post up shortly. Now all thats left to do is a more indepth evaluation, so, lets get to work.
